The Congress party inaugurated its new national headquarters, Indira Gandhi Bhawan, at 9A Kotla Road in Delhi on Wednesday, relocating from its iconic 24 Akbar Road address after 47 years.
The five-storey office was opened by Congress parliamentary party chief Sonia Gandhi, alongside party president Mallikarjun Kharge Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Member of Parliament (MP) Priyanka Gandhi.
The building will house top leadership offices and accommodate various party wings.
The shift comes weeks before Delhi assembly polls.
The new office’s main entrance faces Kotla Road, not Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, where other political party offices, including the Bharatiya Janata Party’s, are located.
